Coffee, Cake & Coping is our Postnatal Support Group
How often do you get asked about your baby’s sleep or whether they are a ‘good baby’? Do people pass an opinion on what you should be doing? Do you want to know how to support your baby’s normal biological sleep and understand development? With so much information to navigate (often conflicting), it can be hard to know what the ‘right’ thing to do is? Our Coffee, Cake & Coping course might help!
We developed our course over 20-years of study and experience working with mothers and their babies. The sessions provide a safe space to ask questions, release worries, and help you attune to what feels suitable for you and your baby. Designed to give you time to slow down, understand your baby better, and support you in your new role, the course offers current research and valuable information to help you explore and experiment with your mothering decisions and parenting values.
The five-week course includes:
- Settling and calming techniques
- An introduction to baby massage, gentle baby yoga, relaxed walks and holds
- Postnatal breathing and pelvic floor health
- Newborn reflexes and sensory development information
- Tummy Time and positions for play
- Understand how to support your baby’s normal biological sleep
- Crying and soothability education
- Plus, a Baby Swimming taster session!
In addition, there’s plenty of time for talking, asking questions and sharing experiences with other new mums. Oh, and there’s cake…did we mention the cake?!
Why did we call it Coffee, Cake & Coping? Because we know that cake can be an entire food group when you are postnatal. And often, ‘Coping’ is what new mothers feel like they are doing in the early weeks with their newborn baby.
“Most of all, Coffee, Cake & Coping is an honest – and often humorous – look at the reality, expectations, confusion, emotions, and joys of being a modern-day mum. With simple, usable hints and tips that could support your parenting style.” Sarah Collister
