We are passionate about Play!
During the early years, children develop and discover their world through Play. In addition to abundant love and connection with their caregivers, they need ample opportunity to experience movement, sensation, exploration and modelling. Our specialist Developmental Play Program beautifully fuses structured, schematic, messy and open-ended play to help develop children’s cognitive, social, emotional, motor and sensorimotor skills.
At Calmababy, we have an in-house team of fully qualified Developmental Play Practitioners who design and lead our Developmental Play Program. Sessions are bespoke and tailored around the components of healthy development, including;
- Postural control, stability and orientation
- Balance and vestibular processing
- Motor planning and coordination
- Midline crossing and bilateral integration
- Body awareness and proprioceptive processing
- Eye/hand coordination and visual perception
- Fine motor and prewriting skills
- Attention, concentration and executive function
“Our mission is two-fold: provide children with an opportunity to experience Power in Play while empowering parents to play with their children at home.” We offer Monday morning sessions in empowering play suitable for all children aged walking to under four years old.
Sessions occur in our studio, where we create educational, interactive learning and play experiences for parents and children. Each week has a specific theme and includes a little of everything to support and suit the sensory diet and ignite imagination and learning.
